Lorene Alday Lindsey, 94 of Tallahassee passed away, Thursday, March 19, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. EDT, Saturday, March 21 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191). Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Mrs. Lindsey was born in Omega, Georgia and moved to Tallahassee 72 years ago from West Palm Beach, Florida. She attended Oak City Assembly of God Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur R. Alday; and two children, Juanita Alday Dupree and Walter B. Alday. Survivors include five daughters, Helen Boucher of Tallahassee, Marilyn Jones Eller (Truett) of Lansing, North Carolina, Betty Day Sims (Boyd) of Tallahassee, Barbara Bidwell of Westland, Michigan and Patsy Jane Alday Holsomback of Fort Myers, Florida; one brother, Jack Willis of West Palm Beach, Florida; twenty one grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 37 great-great-grandchildren. A special thanks to her doctors and to Beth Caswell and her staff at Big Bend Hospice. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions maybe made to Big Bend Hospice or to Elder Care of Tallahassee.
