Services were held Monday for Chester A. Varner, 77, of Ingram, who passed away December 6 in Houston. Linden Wheeler officiated the services in the Kerrville Funeral Home and interment followed in the Sunset Cemetery.
A resident of Kerr County since 1959, he was born Nov. 14, 1909, in Travis Peak, and was a member of the Church of Christ and a rancher.
He is survived by his wife, Bertie Ann Varner Ingram; two daughters, Jo Ann Varner and Rose Mary Varner, both of Ingram; five sons, Alvin Dean Varner, Channelview, Donald Lynn Varner, Kerrville, Chester Alvin Varner, Jr., San Antonio, John Howard Varner, Ingram and David Webb Varner, Kerrville. Also three grandchildren.
