She was born on November 24, 1920 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles Cademus and Nora Christina May (Shank) Bartles. She lived her early life in Hagerstown, moving to Waynesboro at the age of 14.
Mrs. Bingaman attended school in Hagerstown.
She and her first husband, the late Mr. Clarence Marion Bakner, were married October 3, 1940 in Hagerstown. Mr. Bakner died November 4, 1955. She and her second husband, Mr. Norman L. Bingaman, were married June 6, 1959 in Winchester, VA. They moved to their North Grant street address in October 1959. Mr. Bingaman died February 5, 1995.
Mrs. Bingaman spent most of her life as a homemaker, but did domestic work in the local area in earlier years.
She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church, Waynesboro and the Senior Adult Sunday School class.
She enjoyed sewing and working with flowers.
She is survived by two daughters, Priscilla Ann Hess and Christina M. Pentz, both of Waynesboro; a step-daughter, Dorothy L. Barncord of Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nellie E. Bouder of Waynesboro, Mary Ann Hines of Hagerstown and Nora Mae LaRue of Luke, MD; two brothers, Dean Bartles and Jacob L. Bartles, both of Hagerstown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Grant M. Bakner who died in 1948; four sisters, Martha G. Miller, Pauline Timbrook, Christina Munson-Blair and Helen Bartles; and three brothers, Paul Bartles, Charles Bartles and David Bartles.
