Barbara Ann Kaiser, 78, of Portland, Ore., died on Thurs day, Aug. 31, 2000 in Portland.
Visitation will be from 12-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 4, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Vigil service and rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 4, at Chaney-Reager. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Fr. Mickey Flaska will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Kaiser was born on March 7, 1922 to John and Anna Elizabeth (Degenhart)
Schell in Sterling. She attended Padroni School.
She married Joseph Kaiser in Sterling on March 30, 1940. They lived and farmed in the Padroni area until moving to Sterling in 1960. She worked at Logan County Hospital as a nurse's aide for many years until her retirement.
She lived in Denver for a brief time. In 1981, she moved to Portland, Ore.
She enjoyed time with her friend Harold Browning, going to polkas, rodeos, sports activi ties and motorcycle riding along the Columbia Gorge. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Elks and Eagles Lodges in Portland.
Mrs. Kaiser is survived by five sons, Dave Kaiser and wife Lisa of Sterling, TimKaiser and wife Pat of Parker, Don Kaiser of Portland, Bill Kaiser and wife Louise of Port land, and Joe Kaiser and wife Mary of Broomfield; four daughters, Pat Miller and hus band Les of Parker, Jean Jones and husband Ron of Corvallis, Mont., Connie Mitchell and husband Jim of Littleton, and Annette Strickland and husband Jim of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Mark Schell of Arvada; four sisters, Betty Schell and husband Jake of Arvada, Ann Schaffer and hus band Jake of Arvada, Mable Raisch and husband August of Denver, and Mary Meyerholz and husband Rudy of Sterling; 23 grandchildren and 27 great- grandchildren; and best friend Harold Browning of Portland.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe in 1975; one son, Robert Kaiser; three grandchildren, Kathy, Sherry and James Strickland; and eight brothers and sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
