After a long illness Samuel Lucas Seass died Thursday of last week at the home of Mrs. Jessie Scott in Jonathan Creek Township. Mr. and Mrs. Seass have been making their home with Mrs. Scott for some months. He had spent some months in the hospital at Decatur and later at the Eden Inn in this city before going to Scottsweld.
He was born Jan. 22,1869 and was 62 years of age at the time of his death. At one time he was a prominent farmer but in later years engaged in other ventures.
He leaves his wife,one son,A. B. Seass of Paris and one grandson,Robert and his sister Mrs. Scott.
Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at the Scott home,with interment in Seass cemetery.
