Uncle James was the son of Loyal Edward McCummins Sr. and Eva Harclerode McCummins. He had the measles, which started on May 16, 1931. By June 4, 1931, he had pneumonia. The measles and pneumonia led to his early death on June 6, 1931. His body was taken to New Castle, Pa, where he was buried near his paternal grandparents.
