Dorothy Virginia Eisiminger, 88, died at the Santa Catalina Villas in Tucson, AZ on August 23. Born June 1, 1920, she was the daughter of Seals and Lena Alford of Columbus. Dorothy graduated from Jordan Industrial High School in 1939 and attended Georgia State College for Women from 1939 to 1940. She married Lt. Sterling "Butch" Eisiminger on Feb. 22, 1941 in Auburn, AL. A long-time member of the United Methodist Church, she and Butch survived two wars and then traveled the world, moving some forty-five times. A devoted wife and homemaker, she was passionate about tole painting, decoupage, sewing, and antiquing. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, her three children: Sterling "Skip" Eisiminger of Clemson, SC; Virginia Kay Wroldsen of Tucson, AZ; and Karen "Kem" Monk of Stillwater, NJ. Dorothy had six grandchildren: Shane Eisiminger, Anja Fraiser, John Wroldsen, Karen Maloney, Ty and Trevor Monk. She also had five great grandchildren: Sterling and Edgar Eisiminger; Spencer Watson, and Moraia and Johan Wroldsen. Dorothy is also survived by her brother, Ted Alford, of Columbus. Services will take place on Sept. 30 at St. John United Methodist Church, 5312 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151. Viewing will be 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. Funeral service to be held 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Funeral Procession to National Arlington Cemetery: 12:00 noon Interment: 1:00 p.m. Dorothy's younger daughter, the Rev. Kem Monk, will officiate.
