George C. Kelsey was born in Wabaunsee County, near Wamego December 18, 1879. He departed this life April 10, 1947 in a Topeka hospital at the age of 68 years 4 months and 1 day. He was united in marriage to Christina Waterman November 20, 1904. Mr. Kelsey is survived by his wife and five children, Clarence Kelsey of Junction City; Sophia Swaim, Topeka; George H. Kelsey, Belvue; Walter H. Kelsey, Wamego; and Frank Kelsey, Kansas City, Mo, one sister, Mrs. Alice Lowe of Topeka, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Stewart Funeral Home, Monday, April 21 at 2 p.m. Services were conducted by Virgil Haas. Burial was in the Wamego cemetery.
