Born April 7, 1895 in Ringgold township, Jefferson County, he was a son of Daniel Franklin and Mary Ellen Martz Sherry.
He married Wilda Irene Bish on 1 Jul 1924 in Ringgold Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Mr. Sherry was of the Protestant faith. He was a retired coal miner and belonged to the United Mine Workers of America.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert M Sherry of Sandy Lake, Ohio; four granddaughters; ten great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Verda Barnett of Vandergrift. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and four sisters.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Wednesday at the Charles D Alcorn Funeral Home at Hawthorn. Services will be held at 11 am Thursday, May 26 at the funeral home. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Pat Ellis, pastor of the Timblin United Methodist Church.
Interment will be in Timblin Cemetry at Timblin.
