He was wounded in the South Pacific. He married (1) Rosemary Comingo. They divorced and he married (2) Josephine M. Robertson on April 2, 1958 in Chelan County, Washington. They operated Stephenson Insurance and Realty Company until 1978 and lived in Zillah, Washington. Rosemary died on March 7, 2003 in Seattle, Washington.
