Anthropologist and Linguist. Charles F. Voegelin was the most prominent expert in the world on the languages of Native Americans. In 1947 he was Guggenheim Fellow at Indiana University's Department of Anthropology. He was President of the Linguistic Society of America in 1954. Among his many publications was Map of North American Indian Languages published by the American Ethnological Society.
