PIONEER LADY: Mrs. Mary Chapman died at her home in Celina last Tuesday morning of old age, she being in her 88th year. She was born in Columbiana county, Ohio, in 1819 and had been a resident of Mercer county since 1848. She married John H. Chapman in 1839, who died in 1869. They had 9 children, 4 of whom survive the mother. Namely, Mrs. W. E. Hammer, and R. H. Chapman of Celina, and J. L. B. and W. E. Chapman of Liberty twp.; her funeral took place from the Presbyterian church. (Obituary contributed by Karin King)
