Margie Stevens Adams "Mar-lee", 62, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, Margie peacefully closed her eyes on March 20, 2009 surrounded by scores of family and friends. Now with the Lord , she may continue his work free of all pain and provide care for us all from above.
Daughter of Dorothy Stevens Lowry and Manuel Walker who are both deceased.
She is survived by a loving and devoted husband of 43 years, three children, seven beloved grandchildren, two brothers, two aunts, one uncle, three brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, one devoted, a host of nieces, nephews , cousins, and other relatives and friends, among them her devoted friend.
Margie dedicated her life to serving the Lord and helping others.
As a founding member of Unity Baptist Church of Richmond, VA, under the beloved Pastor Barbara J. Wynn leadership, Margie flowed in many church auxiliaries such as Choir Director, Deaconess, and Trustee. An Alumni of Armstrong High School, she attended Madden Business School. During her professional career she worked at WWBT 12, Best Products, Phillip Morris, Circuit City, Stanley's Furniture Store and Home Care By Professionals, Inc.
The family humbly extends a Thank You for all the prayers, well wishes and continued support. We are blessed by love. A special thanks to the nurses and techs of Henrico Doctor's Hospital.
Remains rested at Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. Viewing on Thursday, March 26, 2009, 10am until 8pm. Funeral services held at 1pm Friday, March 27, 2009, at Sharon Baptist Church located at 22 E Leigh Street, Richmond, VA 23219. Rev. Dr. Paul A. Coles, officiated. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Remains rested in church one hour prior to services.
