Hoyle Hiley wear was my grandfather. When he was about 19 he left AR and stowed away on a ship bound for Hawaii. He was dicovered and to keep from going to jail they made him join the Army when that got to Hawaii.
Hoyle H. Wear, Sr, age 83, died Tuesday, September 24, 1985. He is survived by his sons, Hoyle H. Wear Jr. of Houston and Harold H. Wear; San Antonio; daughter, Mrs. Joyce J. Needham, San Antonio; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister Sarah Permilia Wear Nixon of Arkansas. Services 1:00 P.M. Friday, Sept. 27 in Sunset Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Clay L. Burns officiating. Pallbearers: Cliff Herbs, Frank Fletcher, Floyd Smith, Jerry Barton and Jim Craig. Interment in Sunset Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5-9 P.M. Thursday, Sept. in Sunset Funeral Home.
