LAKE GENEVA – Clarence E. Smith, 69, of 1031 Main St. died yesterday in Veterans Administration Hospital, Madison, after a long illness. He was a veteran of World War I, a graduate of Northwestern University and a business analyst who traveled worldwide in his longtime association with May Associates, Chicago. Mr. Smith, a resident here since coming from Chicago 20 years ago, was born Sept. 16, 1898, in Belvidere, Ill. He was a charter member of Post No. 1, Disabled Veterans of America. Cleveland, Ohio; a member of Twin County DAV Post 34, Kelly-Gardner-Katzman American Legion Post 45, Elkhorn; Elks Club and Northwestern Alumni Association. Only immediate survivor Is a nephew, Max Smith, New Orleans, La. Burial and military graveside rites will be in Oakhill Cemetery.
