One of the oldest citizens of Clinton County, Indiana, was removed yesterday in the death of William Bozworth, who died at his home one mile east of Sedalia. Death occurred at 1:30 p.m. and resulted from paralysis, with which he had been suffering for two years, the greater part of this time being bedfast. He was 89 years old, and had resided in Clinton County since a boy. He was born in Preble County, Ohio on October 23, 1825, a son of John and Mary Bozworth. His parents came to Clinton County when he was a small boy locating on the farm which William Bozworth had resided continuously since. The family first erected a log cabin on the place, and were typical pioneer citizens of the section. William Bozworth was married to Polly J. Shafer in 1847. She died in 1877 and in 1880 he was married to Mrs. Martha Crowell, who survives. Five children by the first marriage are living. They are: John F. Bozworth and Mrs. Mary E. Lawrence, residing near Sedallia; Jacob A. Bozworth who lives near Geetingsville, Indiana; H.M. Bozworth, resident near Middlefork; and William A. Bozworth of Frankfort, Indiana.
The funeral will be held from the residence at 10:30 Wednesday; Reverend O.L. Prentice officiating with burial in Ball Hill Cemetery.
