Anna Maria Metzger was born January 26, 1832, at Konig-Wirt, Germany and died Dec. 17, 1917. She came to America in 1854, and was united in marriage to Louis W. Berrigner in 1857. From this union there were five children, John L. W. who died in 1886 at the age of 24, Mrs Emma Lidding of LeMoore, California; Mrs. Louisa Warren, Minnie Knight, and Miss Elinore Berringer all of this place. In early girlhood she was a member of the Lutheran church, but after her marriage united with the Methodist church and was always one of its faithful members. She was a woman of quiet, unpretentious nature, filled with self-sacrifice and love. During the last five weeks of her life she suffered a great deal and often expressed the wish that she could go to that sweet rest beyond.
