Noah Michael Schmidt of rural Williamsburg, was born June 1, 1982 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Richard Carl Schmidt II and Cynthia VanDee. He attended grade school in North English and Williamsburg, graduating from Williamsburg High School in 2001. He had completed his sophomore year at the University of Iowa in Iowa City studying to be an Art Teacher. He was to receive an academic scholarship from the University of Iowa for being an honor student. Noah enjoyed spending quality time with his grandparents, family, and close friends and going to concerts. Studying and working for the University occupied most of his time. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williamsburg. Noah died unexpectedly near Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on Sunday, July 20, 2003 at the age of 21 years.
He is survived by his father, Richard Carl Schmidt II and his mother Cindy Van Dee of Oxford; two sisters, Jesse Schmidt of Williamsburg and Cassie Schmidt of Oxford and a half sister, Tilly Schmidt of South English; three grandparents: R. Carl and Margaret Schmidt of Keswick and Marjorie Van Dee of Williamsburg and a nephew , Justice.
