William Gore was the son of James L Gore and Elizabeth Anderson Gore. He was born in Tennessee. He married Mary Elizabeth Hampton 3 Dec 1873 in Celina, Clay, Tennessee. They had moved to Southwest Oklahoma by 1900, which was called Greer, Texas when they first came into the area. In 1910 they were living in New Mexico, but returned to Hess, Jackson County,Oklahoma by 1920. They were parents of Alfred, Sallie, John Hampton, Mae, Annie Lou and Edgar Faye.
