Richard David (Rick) Axmear was born on July 16, 1954 in Sigourney, Iowa, to Kenneth and Joan (Herdliska) Axmear and graduated from Tri-County High School in1972. On April 22, 1977, he married Margaret Tyrrell in North English. They were later divorced. Rick served in the United States Air Force and has farmed between North English and Kinross since 1977. He was a member of the Tri-County School Board for several years and coached Little League and Pony League baseball for over a decade. Rick died of a brain hemorrhage Monday, November 29, 2004, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, at the age of 50 years, 4 months and 13 days. He is survived by a daughter Abbie Kelley and husband Stephen of Cedar Rapids; three sons: Aaron Axmear & wife Jessica and Adam Axmear all of Lee's Summit, MO, and Alex Axmear of North English; three grandchildren: Noah, Nicholas and Peyton Kelley; two sisters: Deanna Valley of Stillwater, OK and Carolyn Heying of Calmar; three brothers:Steve Axmear of North English, Robert & Fred Axmear both of Waukon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
