N. L. Denison
PALESTINE - N. L. Denison, 85, of Palestine, Texas passed away Friday, December 15, 2006. He was born June 3, 1921 in Italy, Texas to Josh W. and Lula (Christy) Denison. He grew up and attended schools in Milford. N. L. was involved with Civilian Conservation Corp during the mid 1930’s. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1941 to 1947.

He worked for Union Carbide as a machinist before retiring. On June 27, 1942, he married Juanita Cockerham in Milford. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2002. They had lived in Galveston County for many years where they raised four children and moved to Milford in 1981 and to Hillsboro in 1997. He had lived in Palestine for the past year. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, two daughters, Eva Janet Hamilton and Sandra June Zimmerman.

His survivors include his children Albert E. Denison and wife, Kay of Palestine, Barbara Nunn and husband, Paul of La Marque; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Marshall & Marshall Eastside Chapel in Hillsboro, Texas with the Rev. Al Crane.
