Virgil A. Swafford, 73, Route 6, Huntsville, died March 24 in the Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born July 20, 1905, in Carr Lane, Missouri, he was the son of Charlie and Sarah Garrison Swafford. He was a farmer and a member of the Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nannie Ellison Swafford of the home; three sons, Charlie and Wayne Swafford of Peoria, Illinois, and Gilbert Swafford of Huntsville; a daughter, Mrs. Leona Faye Ahearn of Madera, Calif; five brothers, Tommie and Hershel Swafford of Oak Grove, Ark, Alvin Swafford of Viola, Mo, Walter Swafford of Harrison, and Amos Swafford of Pleasant Hill, Mo; two sisters, Mrs. Della Randolph of Oak Grove, and Mrs. Viola Yarbrough of Redding, Calif; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services were in McCollough Church near Carr Lane. Burial was in the McCollough Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
