Raymond L. Minnich, 86, of 846 Blanchard Ave., died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 1994, at Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following an extended illness.

Born Oct. 22, 1907, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Cora Mae McClure Minnich.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Before joining the U.S. Navy in 1927 he worked for Blue Ridge Woolen Co. He reenlisted in 1942 for World War ll duty in the Pacific Theater on the USS Dyson.

He worked for other mills and the U.S. government at Fort Ritchie, Md., as an air conditioning heating maintenance man. retiring as supervisor in 1968.He was last employed at Chambersburg Hospital in the maintenance department until 1972.

A life member of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 Veterans of Foreign Wars, he was also a member of Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion; a former volunteer with Franklin Fire company; a member of AARP.; and a former manager of the Greene Township Township Lions Little League team.

He was known for his hobby of making doll houses.

Surviving are his wife, Maxine Fogal Minnich; a son, Raymond Craig of Fayetteville; a daughter, Cathy J. (Mrs. Terry L.) Tarquino of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.

A sister and three brothers preceded him in death.

Burial will be Monday in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
