In Brunswick county, on the 14th, at the residence of the bride's father, by the Rev. Dr. Drane, HENRY M. DRANE, to Miss VIRGINIA, daughter of S. Lloyd, Esq.

FUNERAL THIS AFTERNOON.


Remains of Col. H. M. Drane will be Laid to Rest.


Col. Henry M. Drane, a prominent citizen of Armour, who has been critically ill at the James Walker Memorial Hospital for several weeks past died early yesterday afternoon at the hospital. His death was not unexpected, but the passing away of this prominent man, nevertheless, will come with poignant grief to his relatives and many friends throughout North Carolina.


Col. Drane was the 76th year of his age. He was identified with railroad building; throughout his life, and for two years he was president of the old Wilmington and Manchester Railroad, now the Wilmington, Columbia and August Railroad.


He was also president of two railroads' ln: Florida, and during his life he filled practically every position that there is in railroad work. Col. Drane served valiantly throughout the Civil War.


The deceased was married In 1861 to Miss Virginia Lloyd, and there are left to mourn his loss, a widow and four children, these being Mr. S. L. Drane, of San Juan, Puerto Rico; Mrs. W. G. Morrell, Savannah, Ga.; Mrs. Thomas Ashe Hall, Macon, Ga.; and Mr. George Thomas Drane, of New Orleans, La.


Col. Drane was a member of St James' Episcopal Church. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock from the residence of Dr. J. H.. Durham, No. 403 Chestnut street, and the interment will be made In Oakdale cemetery.
