Dona Lucinda Woods Cross was the wife of William Carol Cross whom she married sometime prior to 1863, probably in Tennessee. Lucinda was born ca. 1844 in Tennessee and her parents were born in North Carolina, according to the 1880 Lawrence Co., Tennessee census.
After her husband returned from the Civil War, he and Lucinda purchased a farm in St. Joseph, Tennessee in 1871 and lived there until their deaths.
William Carol Cross died, ca. 1913, in St. Joseph, Tennessee at the home of his son, William A. "Billy" Cross. Lucinda had preceded him in death and he lived with his children in his latter years.

Gravesite Details
Apparently there is no surviving headstone for this burial. Photographer William Anthony Watkins searched this cemetery in August 2009 and could not find the grave of Dona Lucinda Woods Cross. Thank you, Anthony.
