Graveside services for Mildred Thedford Socia,76, of Tyler were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, in Bullard Cemetery with the Rev. Cecil Harper officiating. Arrangements were under direction of Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home Tyler.
Mrs. Socia died Wendesday March 11,in a Tyler hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Feb.22,1917, in Noonday and attended Noonday schools. She was a lifelong resident of Smith County and a member of Bullard Methodist Church. She was a retired licensed vocational nurse and worked many years at Medical and Surgical Clinic in Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Temple Thedford; and three brothers, Roy,Retus,and Benny Thedford, and a sister, Reba Repp.
Survivors include her husband, J.R. Gillentine, Tyler; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard C. and Mary Sackett, San Antonio, and Dwayne M. and Kelly Sackett, Bullard; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Louise Sackett, Tyler,Margaret Jane and J.D. Lane, Lake Palenstine; two sisters, Dorothy Maxfield, Chandler, and Johnnie Smith, Baytown; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons and Dr. Joe Whetsell.
