NEWTON —
Cora Paige McClenahan died Sunday (Feb. 8, 2009) at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

She was born March 5, 2008. In her 11 months, she touched the hearts and lives of hundreds of people, not only in Kansas, but around the world. Her parents, Joel and Jessica McClenahan, maintained a daily blog that served as a medical update for family and friends and clearly indicated the faith that gave them hope and courage in a situation full of uncertainty.

After a brief battle with cancer, Cora went to be with Jesus on Feb. 8, 2009.

In lieu of floral gifts, memorials will be used to establish the "Cora Playground" to enhance the children's ministries of Grace Community Church in Newton.

Her life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Community Church, with Pastor David Reimer officiating.

In addition to her parents, Cora leaves grandparents, Don and Kathy Beverlin and Jerry and Susan McClenahan of Newton. Also surviving are great-grandparents Gary and Vi Beverlin of Wray, Colo., Jack and Natalie Peregoy of Ellisville, Mo., and Jerald and Marian McClenahan of Chambers, Neb.

Sweet Cora will be missed by uncles and aunts, Loren and Ann Kurtz, Matthew and Rachel Beverlin, Owen Beverlin, Leah and Ben Giger, Olivia and Bill Good, James McClenahan, and Ivy McClenahan. Her cousins, Ellie, Tripp, Henry, Harrison and Ellie, also will miss her playful and engaging spirit.

The entire family is grateful to the professional and thoughtful medical personnel of the pediatric intensive care unit at Wesley Medical Center. We all thank God for His unchanging goodness.

Memorials may be left in care of Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
