Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Evans, 60, of Taylorville died at 8:10 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008 in her home. She was born August 14, 1947, in Taylorville, the daughter of Charles William and Dorothy Helen Cline Thomas.
She had worked at Wal-Mart and Casey's General Store.
Surviving are her son, Thomas N. Evans, Jr., of Florida; daughter, Stacy Dorey of Springfield; grandchildren; William Leaderbrand, Kristopher Evans and Brady Patton; brother, Charles E. Thomas, Jr., of Tovey; sisters: Jeanetta (husband Jerry) Kohl of Taylorville and Lezlie (husband Keith) Flanigan of Tovey; one nephew; seven nieces; and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 10, in Wilson Park Funeral Home, Edinburg, with Rev. Howard Wise officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, in Bethany Cemetery, Edinburg.
Visitation will be held for two hours prior to services in the funeral home Thursday.
