George was the oldest of four boys born to T A & Florence Russell. Early life was on the family cotton farm in Leon county and area. He learned the trade of "Butcher" as a young man. With this trade he ws able to buy the cars he wanted and became a business owner. He and his wife, Marguerite retired to 25 acres in Leon County that had been a part of his GrandFather's Billy's (WD)Russell farm. There he and Marguerite were founding members of the North Creek Baptist Church.
