Ruth was born in Baum to Thomas & Lily C. Gilliam Jones. She lived in the Baum and Sulphur area most of her life. She had worked as a beauty operator and later as a nurses aide at Arbuckle Hospital and Callaway Nursing Home. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, She was married to Emmett C. Owens on April 12, 1936 at Sulphur. He preceded her in death December 14, 2004. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons Charles & James Owens, 2 daughters: Georgia Harp and Glenda Stiles. and her brothers & sisters.
Survivors:Son & daughter-in-law: Harold & Della Owens of Ardmore, Daughter & son-in-law: Gayle & Marty McCook of Orange, Calif. 17 Grandchildren & several great and great great grandchildren.
Services: Monday January 5 at 10:00AM Graveside at Oaklawn Cemetery
