Lenore Louise Abel, 92, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at her home with family at her side while under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice program in Alton. Born Jan. 14, 1912, in York, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Royal Milton and Grace Moser Parr.
She married Victor Eugene Abel, who died Aug. 13, 1983, after 58 years of marriage.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by a son, Victor P. Abel of Alton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Christine and Michael Mainieri of Wentzville, Deborah and Rick Tiek of St. Charles, Mo., Victor P. and Kelly Abel of Cottleville, Mo., Lisa and Michael Henley of Lebanon, Tenn., and Joshua Abel of Alton; 11 great-grandchildren; other extended family; and many friends.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service celebrating and honoring her life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Zion United Church of Christ in York. Interment will be at Mount Rose Cemetery in York.
