Ted Louie Potts was born on July 29, 1933, to Theodore Roosevelt and Anna Juanita (Dodson) Potts in Albany. He attended Albany High School. In November of 1955 Ted was inducted into the United States Army, where he served until his honorable discharge in October 1961.

Ted married Betty Francis Heflin on January 22, 1960, in Durant. Ted was a man of integrity who retired from the city of Dallas, where he worked as a supervisor for the Water Utilities Department for 30 years.

He returned to Bryan County in 1996 to live out the remainder of his life. Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing and drinking coffee with his buddies at Wrights. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. We loved him yesterday ... we love him today ... and we will continue to love him with every tomorrow.
