He was born at Board Camp in Polk County, Arkansas May 17, 1946, the son of Edmund Palmer Davis and Ethel Maedean Cogburn Davis. He was a truck driver and attended the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Spears Davis of Kirby; one son, Edmund McKinley Davis Jr. of the home; one daughter, Tina Maggie Maydean Davis of the home; two foster sons, Johnny Ray Spears and Tommy Joe Spears of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Davis of Murfreesboro; one brother, Kenneth Davis of Murfreesboro; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Edwina Walker of Hot Springs, Mrs. Katherine Bell Farmer of Black Springs, Mrs. Susan Irene Williams of Norman and Miss Patricia Joann Davis of Murfreesboro; and his grandmother, Mrs. Bell Cogburn of Caddo Gap.
Services were June 16 in the Culvert Springs Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Charlie Kirby officiating. Burial was in Coker Cemetery by Davis Funeral Home.
