James Franklin Ferren, 93 year old Olney man, died Monday afternoon at his home after a very long illness. He resided at 327 S. Morgan Street.
Mr. Ferren was a retired building contractor, having built many homes near St. Louis, Mo. He was the last surviving member of a family of several children. He leaves several nieces and nephews. He was a lifetime member of Overland Lodge No. 875, I.O.O.F., of Overland, Mo.
Mr. Ferren was born in Holton, Ind., on Sept. 5, 1862, but had spent a large part of his life in and near Olney. For several years he made his home with his niece, Mrs. Dan Sherwood and husband.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Schaub Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald Grollimund in charge. Interment was in Haven Hill cemetery, beside his wife, Armina.
