Joseph Kopecky, age 72 years, of rural Angus, Minnesota passed away on Friday, March 23, 1956 in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Joseph Kopecky was born on Monday, September 3, 1883 in Todd County, Minnesota, the son of Venzl "James" and Marie (Novotny) Kopecky. He was the fourth child of twelve of James and Marie. In 1889, the family moved to northern Minnesota and settled on a farm in Northland Township in Polk County. On April 12, 1910, Joe and Anna Slonek were married and moved to Falun, Minnesota for a short time and then moved and farmed in Northland Township of Polk County, near Tabor, Minnesota. They raised their family of 8 children in the Tabor community.

Joe is survived by his wife, Anna Kopecky; four daughters; Anna (Frank) Novak, Ella (Charles) Kugel, Rose Nelson, and Dorothy (James) Dunning; 3 sons: Joseph (Mary) Kopecky, Charles (Lydia) Kopecky, and Ernest (Louise) Kopecky, many grandchildren; three sisters: Emma Novak, Frances Waletzko, and Rose (James) Kluzak; three brothers: John (Josie) Kopecky; Albert (Emma) Kopecky and Anton (Mary) Kopecky; brother-in-law, William Kluzak; and many nieces and nephews.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; one son, William Kopecky at 18 days of age; one brother, Frank at 15 years of age; Four sisters: Mary Lethcoe, Mathilda Kluzak, Anna Kopecky in infancy and Agnes Kopecky in infancy; two brothers-in-law, Joe Novak and Andrew Waletzko.
