Leroy McDaniel, 76, of 190 South Oliver Street, husband of Violet McDaniel, died at Athens Thursday night after several weeks of illness.
He was a native of Dacula, a son of the late Wiley and Daisy King Mcdaniel, and had lived in Elberton for a number of years having retired from the City of Elberton as a foreman of the Water and Light Department. He was a member of the Elberton United Methodist Church, a US Army veteran having served in World War II and was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Carra Lee Torina and Helen Maxine Seymour of Elberton and Sarah Violet Hart of Seattle, WA; five grandchidren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Hicks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Partridge officiating. Burial was in Elmhurst Cemetery.
