Kathryn L. Neff, age 75, of Leola, PA, passed away at the Mt. Joy Hospice Center on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. She was the wife of Robert Neff of Leola and the late Larry Whirt who passed away on April 9, 1981. She was born in Marietta, daughter of the late Amos G. & Katherine Spyde Spade. She was a member of the New Beginning Church of Akron. She was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Surviving besides her husband are four children: Samuel husband of Jackie Weller Whirt of New Holland, John husband of Cindy Andes Whirt of Willow Street, Ruth Ann wife of Doug Iehley of Leola, Larry husband of Chris Haddock Whirt of Millersville, 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 10 siblings: Eileen Keller of Lebanon, Odella wife of Robert Dippner of New Holland, Virginia Miller of Vineland, NJ, Nancy Ebersole of New Holland, Barbara Stoltzfus of Leola, Frances wife of Alvin Nolt of Quarryville, Gertrude wife of Arthur Reford of Paradise, George husband of Donna Lefever Spade of Quarryville, Harry Spade of Leola, Joe husband of Mary Lou Papellero Spade of Sacramento, CA. She was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Spade.
Funeral service will take place at the Shivery Funeral Home, 3214 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, PA on Friday, April 3rd, at 2 p.m. with a viewing from 1 p.m. until time of service. Pastor Joe Hyatt will be officiating. Interment will be in the Paradise Mennonite Cemetery.
