Betty was born on November 5, 1922, in New Brunswick, NJ, to Charles and Mary (Tomori) Gazdik. She married William J. Berta on June 21, 1941 in Stephenson, Michigan and the couple raised three children together. Betty loved dancing, flower gardening, and cooking.
Mrs. Berta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Theresa Barbula; and her brother Louis Gazdik. She is survived by her two sons, Charles "Chuck" Berta of Ranchester and William Berta of Idaho; her daughter, Linda Schwamb of Sheridan; her four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her brother, Charles Gazdik of Sheridan; her sister, Mary Berta of Macon, Georgia; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held at 6:00pm on Sunday, July 11, 2004 at Kane Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, July 102, 2004 at Holy Name Catholic Church with The Reverend Ron Stolcis officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
The family has requested that memorials be made in Betty's name to the Sheridan Senior Citizen's Center in care of Karen Green, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007,
