Herman S. Barrow Sr. was born 1914 in Ferrells, Nash County, NC the only known surviving child of farmers, William R. Barrow and his wife, Nettie Batten.
He was the paternal grandchild of Joseph Sylvster Barrow (c. 1855) and Mary Frances "Fannie" Grubb (1850-1932) of Davidson County, NC; and maternal grandchild of Berry G. Batten & Mary Ann Lee of Marks Creek (Knightdale), Wake County, NC.
Herman married Lettie P., also found a Mary Lessie, and Lucille P.
He died in 1975 at about age 61. His wife survived him by 10 years, passing in 1985 at about age 81.
