Edward was a son of Maurice Gorman and his wife, Julia Hartnull (both parents were born in Northern Ireland). He was a farm hand. He married Emma Kern, who preceded him in death. Emma died on May 12, 1931 in Danville (Vermilion County), Illinois. Edward was admitted to the County Poor Farm on October 12, 1931; because he was no longer able to work. He was in fair health. There is a remark from Record of Inmates - Iroquois County Home: it states that Gorman's body was sent to Segur funeral home; ordered by James Savoie, Superintendent Papineau Township.
