Daniel born at Sudbury May 28, 1752; married September 20, 1770, Bathsheba, daughter of Ezekiel and Bath-sheba Howe, who died March 25, 1777. He married second, April 4, 1779, Mrs. Lucy (Eaton) Rice, who had first married, November 11, 1773, Jesse Moore, and after his death had married second, June 5, 1777, Jonas Rice; he died and she became the wife of Daniel Loring, as we have stated. Daniel was sergeant in Nixon's company of Colonel Pierce's regiment, which served in 1775 at Bunker Hill and elsewhere; also in Captain Gardiner's company, Colonel Brooks' regiment at Horseneck, in 1776; was in charge of the Sudbury magazine in 1779; adjutant in 1781. He removed to Ohio, settling at Belpre in Washington county. An entry in the books of the Ohio Company:
