Mrs. Vera Dell Barker was born on Thursday, June 27, 1935 daughter of the late Albert and Ina Ann Quattlebaum Jenkins.

Mrs. Barker died Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Trumann Health and Rehabilitation in Trumann Ark., at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 15 days.

She was born in Guy, Ark., and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was retired from the former Singer Company and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her husband, Monzo Barker, four sisters, two brothers and her parents.

Suvivors include one daughter, Cathee McGhee of Trumann; three sisters, Gail Hall of Harrisburg, Bonnie Gibbs of Trumann and Dean Cossey of South Bend, Ind.; two brothers, Albert "Bud" Jenkins of Wynne and Pete Jenkins of Harrisburg; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Holly Springs Cemetery near Harrisburg, Ark. Burial will follow with Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann in charge.

Pallbearers will be Terry Jenkins, Freddy Jenkins, Albert Jenkins, Jim McGhee and Nathan Gibbs.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00p.m. p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.
