Laurence Raymond Gilpin, 75, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Columbia, died Wednesday, May 30, 1990, at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Parker Funeral Service,Tenth and Walnut streets, with the Rev. Kevin Collins officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Nashville Cemetery.
Mr. Gilpin was born March 30, 1915, in Boone County to Irasel Gilpin and Laura Cunningham Gilpin. A graduate of Nashville School in Boone County, Gilpin worked for the Missouri Highway Department for 15 years. He then moved to Boulder, Colo., where he worked for the public schools for 15 years. He moved to Boise 12 years ago. Mr. Gilpin was a member of Acaci Masonic Lodge and Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia. He married Beulah Mae Lee on Jan. 19, 1935, in Columbia, and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Eilene Tennyson of Boise; a sister, Pearl Martin of Columbia; and two grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death.
