Isaac G. Kimbley

Issac G. Kimbley died Wednesday evening Feb. 1st, at 2:10 o'clock at the residence of his son Fred E. Kimbley, of Kidney troubles, aged 73 years 3months and 26 days, after an illness of several weeks.
Mr. Kimbley was born and raised near Orleans and has been identified with the interests of our town ever since he grew to mans estate. He was married to Miss Millie Webb in 1852. To this union seven children were born, six boys ans one girl, of which five boys and one girl remain. These are all grown, and with the exception of one son, were present at the funeral. His wife died a little over two years ago and since then he has made his home with his son Fred. He was a member of the M.E. Church and lived a consistent christian life. He had been a member in good standing of the I.O.O.F. for over 30 years, and the order so dearly loved by him officiated in the rites of burial. He was a veteran of the civil war serving as a private in Co. G. 24th Ind. Vol. Inf., and made an enviable record as a soldier. It was here he contracted the ailments that years after caused his death. His sufferings were intense during his last illness, but he bore them bravely and seemed not afraid to die.
The funeral services were held at the residence this afternoon, conducted by Rev. L. C. Jeffrey, after which the body was laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery by the side of his wife and son, there to await the resurrection morn. The sympathy of the entire community are with the bereaved ones in their great loss.
