Son of the late John & Sarah Miller Cox, he was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He died at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Easter Cox & several brothers & sisters from the Parkersburg area.
He is survived by a son; two daughters; several grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. on Monday at Friendship Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brant Funeral Service in Portsmouth.
