Evelyn "Tootsie" L. Christenson, 69, of Eau Claire passed away Friday April 3, 2009, at home, surrounded by her family.
Evelyn was born Feb. 20, 1940, to Ralph and Minnie Henning, the third oldest of six children. She attended Regis High School and later earned her LPN degree at District One Technical Institute (now CVTC).
On Oct. 6, 1956, Evelyn married Francis O. Christenson and began their 50 plus years together.
After 22 years as an LPN, she retired from the ninth floor at Sacred Heart Hospital in 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Fran; three sons, Corey (Barb), Roland, Ernest (Nancy); three daughters, Laura (Mitch) Bevans, Joy Christenson and Rochelle (Brian) Stenseth; her mother, Minnie; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought great joy to her life.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, Ralph.
Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital Chapel with Father John A. Schultz and Monsignor Edmund Klimek concelebrating the Mass. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, where there will be a 6 p.m. public prayer vigil service.
Memorials are preferred to the Marshfield Clinic Cancer Center or The Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital, both located at 900 W. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54701.
