Louise Adams, 90, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Harrell Memorial Chapel in Dublin. Interment: Barbee Cemetery, south of Dublin.
Louise was born May 22, 1918, in Olustee, Okla., to Charlie Edmond Stephen and Roberta "Bertie" Florence Capell Stephen. The Stephen family moved from Oklahoma to the farm and livestock community of Shiloh when she was just a young girl. She attended school in Shiloh and Dublin. In 1935 she married Llanos B. Adams of Shiloh. Her early years of marriage were spent as a farm wife in the Shiloh/Edna Hill area. The family moved to Fort Worth in 1950 and to Hurst in 1960. Following the untimely death of her husband in 1964, Louise went to work for the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD in the school cafeteria system. She retired in 1985 as assistant manager at Hurst Junior High School after 20 years of service.
Following retirement she enjoyed working in her yard, staying busy with her home projects and baking cakes, cookies and other desserts for her family. Her constant desire for perfection was seen throughout her life's endeavors.
She was the last surviving sibling of the union of Charlie and Bertie Stephen, having been preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Louise's final days were spent peacefully at Universal Hospice of Fort Worth. The family would like to thank the staff for the excellent care given to our mother.
Survivors: Sons, Elvis Duane and wife, Sandra, of Hurst and Larry and wife, Jessica, of North Richland Hills; grandchildren, Stephen Adams and wife, Olivia, of Escondido, Calif., Michelle Adams Lucio and husband, Henry, of Bedford, Jennifer Adams of Dallas and Tyler Adams of North Richland Hills; and great-grandchildren, Henry IV, Holden and Mackenzie Lucio of Bedford and Justine Marie Adams of Escondido, Calif.
