City Man Suffers Heart Attack On Fishing Trip

Napoleon Julius Paradise, 70, owner of the North Shore resort at Rice Lake, was found dead in his car near Tuscobia lake north of the city Sunday morning, apparently the victim of a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Hyllengren Funeral chapel with Rev. Arthur Weber of St. Joseph's Catholic church officiating and burial was made in Nora cemetery.

Mr. Paradise had gone fishing Saturday and became the object of an intensive search when he failed to return home that night. He was found by a search party about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, a short distance from the lake and apparently suffered the heart attack after walking to his car. The lights and ignition were on and a bucket of fish was found in the car.

He is survived by his wife, Fern; three sons, Virgil of Rice Lake, LaVerne of New Brighton, Minn. and Dewayne at home and by four daughters, Mrs. Mina Traicoff of Rice Lake, Mrs. Alice Gafner, jr. of Duluth, Mrs. June Havel of Rt. 2, Rice Lake and Ruby at home. Another son, Arnold, is missing from WWII.
