Fern Paradise, 82, of Rice Lake, died Dec. 7 at the Rice Lake Convalescent Center. Funeral services were held Friday from Wesleyan Church in Rice Lake and burial was made in Nora Cemetery.
The former Fern Coleman was born March 23, 1901 in Sauk County. On Jan. 17, 1920, she married Napoleon Paradise at Couderay. They owned and operated North Shore Resort at Rice Lake until his death in 1961.
She is survived by three sons, Virgil, LaVern and DeWayne, all of Rice Lake; three daughters, Alice Gafner of Duluth, June Havel and Ruby Frolik of Rice Lake; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Forest Coleman of Rice Lake.
