William Julius "Billy" Trippe, 65, of Robinwood Lane died Thursday in the Eugene Talmadge Memorial Hospital in Augusta following four days of serious illness.
Billy was a native and life long resident of Elbert County and the son of Albert Lee and Sevilla Smith Trippe. He was a retired granite quarry foreman, a veteran of World War II, a past Post Commander of the Pulliam-Burton VFW Post, the Elberton Elks Club, American Legion Post, the Elberton Moose Club. he was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Smith Trippe and one son, Donald Ray Trippe of Tucker; two daughters Mrs Carolyn T Wilder of Smyrna, and Miss Annette Trippe of Marietta. One brother Albert L Trippe Jr of College Park; three sisters, Mrs D C Dixon of Elberton, Mrs Sterling King of Decatur and Mrs J E Norris of Abbeville SC and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Hicks Funeral Home with Rev Leo Rappe officiating. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Martin Dixon, Randall Gunter, Rabon Sanders, Travis Erwin, W O Hudson, Hewell Carlton, Gene Bell and Pete Taylor.
